EMR

About two years ago, someone told me about how cell phones can damage your brain cells. To be honest, I did not pay much attention to that because I just did not believe it and I had never heard of it, I couldn’t even understand how it would happen-until just recently. I had bought a Cosmopolitan (my second bible) and just near the middle page there was an article on the dangers and health hazards of cell phones. I knew only then that it was real and pretty serious-hence it was on Cosmo. Electro Magnetic Radiation is something that is produced by electrical appliances-the most common and familiar would be the microwave. Surprisingly (well, to me), cell phones also give out EMR. Many cell phones are sold each and every day and there are about a billion cell phone users in the world. As the number of cell phones increase rapidly, also more people should be concerned about effects that regular exposure to EMR can have on their health. Studies have shown that regular exposure to EMR is a serious health threat. Another damage that cell phones can cause to human beings is using it while driving. So many accidents have occurred as a result of talking on the phone while driving. People usually have the thought that “it would never happen to them” and that they can mange to talk on their phones while driving and controlling the steering wheel. I’m sure most people are able to do it but it is the dangers of doing it that should be considered. A person is easily distracted when they talk on the phone and tend to focus more on the ‘conversation’ rather than the road which is what leads to accidents. This is why talking on the phone while driving has been banned by the law in South Africa and if you give it some thought, it is actually as bad as drinking and driving.
